Whenever someone orders a red-eye (or shot in the dark, or whatever name you prefer for a coffee with a shot of espresso in it) from me at work, I want to call it out by saying “Yo dawg, I heard you like coffee…” but then I remember that I spend a lot more time on Tumblr than anyone who comes in to my work.
"I am fairly sure we smash around like eccentric atoms, with agendas, in apartments and offices all day, meanwhile our general concept of life is modeled by ‘a being on a B-line for all things beautiful and beyond’. Sometimes I feel our concept of life on a daily basis, is probably modeled better by ‘how the ocean hits the shore’…always and differently."
Thanks to our brave fans, friends and families, Corpus Callosum has raised over $5500 for our Summer tour through our Kickstarter fundraiser! We are bouncing off the walls to have the opportunity to tour nationally, are deeply in your debt for all the help, and will do our utmost to reach as many new fans as possible.
$5500 is our expected minimum cost for the tour (500 gallons of gas, 39 promotional packages, 1 used tour van), but with even just a little more cash we can do quite a lot: an extra $1000 will seriously open up our options for what vehicle we can purchase (maybe something with working windshield wipers; possibly one with a more recently rebuilt engine; perhaps something with new tires; please please air conditioning). It is likely that each dollar above the goal will go farther than the first $5500.
Our Kickstarter fundraiser will be up for another 4 days (through midnight on Monday). We would love to hand out a few more albums if you can throw us $15. Dax has raised the limit for the watercolor reward from 8 to 16 for the $50 level (with an unlimited number claimable at the $75 or $150 level). We also do not mind if you want to increase an existing pledge to capture more rewards, like the on-the-road postcards from Stephanie and Andrea, Avery’s mixtapes, or Stevie’s podcast.
Thanks so much! Thanks so much! Stay tuned for official tour dates!
It’s always nice when the person who trained you as a barista — a person who loves coffee and has been making it for over a decade — comes up to you and says, “That cappuccino you made me was delicious. It was better than any I’ve made for myself in a very long time.”
If you’re wondering why I’ve been so Instagram-happy around here lately, it’s because my little G12 has been out of order. I just learned the price to repair it, and I decided that it would be money better spent if I just put it toward an upgrade. So if you come across anyone looking to get rid of a DSLR (preferably with video - I’ve been eyeing the Canon T2i) for a good price, let me know, will ya?
Steve Swasey, vice-president of CorporateCommunicationsat Netflix, told National Post that “the return of Arrested Development exclusively on Netflix will be in the US only.” Those living outside the US will have to wait for the eventual DVD.
