Almost exactly two years ago, I wrote about seeing Doseone walking on the street in Oakland and chasing after him to tell him he’s one of my heroes.

Last night, one of my house/band mates was working a party where Doseone was playing, and they ended up talking at the end of the night. When that night two years ago was mentioned, Dose said, “Oh yeah, and the young lady… what was her name?”

So, kids, the moral of the story is that all you have to do to get your heroes to remember you is chase them down the street like a lunatic.

13 & God is a collaborative project from German indie-electro band the Notwist and California rap collectives Themselves and Subtle.  Own Your Ghost is 13 & God’s second studio full-length, and their first in six years.  Umm if you have to wait 6 years for something this good it’s worth it.  

GASP!!! I have been waiting for this album to exist for so long!

This man has a way with words that borders on magical, and always lands hard on brilliant.

This track made me all misty-eyed the first time I heard it, and gives me goosebumps every time.
