At least once a year, I tell you all that you *must* check out Spirits of the Red City. I’m doing it again because I love them and they are The Most Wonderful.

Spirits of the Red City, last night at Cakebread Castle again! This is a new song, and I’m not sure of the title. (The video is pretty dark, but the sound is good.)

I gave my harmonium to them tonight because Will (the lead singer) asked really nicely while looking at me very intensely. The whole band was super excited, and kept telling me how they had all been talking for a long time about getting a harmonium. I decided that San Francisco only gave it to me so I could hold on to it until they got here. I’m absolutely certain that this band will put it to very good use.

I strongly suggest you stop by Amnesia (853 Valencia St. - between 19th & 20th) to see Corpus Callosum and Spirits of the Red City.

The Spirits played an *incredible* set last night, and I’m certain tonight’s will be at least as good.

Seriously, do not miss this band before they leave town.

Spirits of the Red City - Fire

This band. I love this band. They are wonderful musicians and people. A bunch of sexy farmers, plus a lead singer who looks a little like Joaquin Phoenix, but a lot shorter and more lucid.

Fun fact: The girl who plays stand-up bass is also a blacksmith!

Seriously, if you never come to another one of my shows, come to this one. (I am looking at you, Keir. O_o) Spirits of the Red City is AMAZING, DeatHat is all kinds of great, and there will be a harpsichord. A harpsichord!
